Greetings and Salutations,

I have started a new AD&D game with some kids high school friends.

I will attempt to post to this after every session.

Today was session 0, we finished characters set thet able and player/dm expectations.

This what we came up with

Table rules
1.	We are all here for fun and enjoyment, no bullying or harassment of other players or characters, and please refrain from swearing.
If you are unable to attend the session, please advise the dm prior to the session start, that way the group is not waiting.

2.	No stealing / loot hording from others.

3.	No pvp unless both players agree to it in advance.

4.	Anyone can stop the game at any time by X ing their arms above their head or Infront of them , then that player can state the reason for halt of game play.

5.	Everyone will have an equal chance to speak, but only one a time

6.	Keep discussion whenever possible on track, the DM is the Moderator and arbitrator of the rules.

7.	Any rulings by the DM made "on the fly" and discussions are to be held over to next session, accept the rulings in the game, and leave any discussions to start of next session.

8.	Players are responsible for their own character sheets, equipment, magic items, loot and note taking. Please bring own papers, pencils, erasers and dice (when owned)

9.	This is an experience point (XP) based game, not milestone, XP will be awarded for good role playing, good ideas(successful or not), skills and magic used .and will be awarded at start of each session

10.	Each session on a rotating basis, players will be required to take the session notes for the players, the DM will take dm notes, the players notes will be recapped at the start of next
session. These notes should include, places went, creatures / mobs encountered, loot gained, quests completed / accepted.

11.	With DM approval, players can write/ introduce stories and adventures hooks, that they generate, with final arbitration given to dm as to when that story/adventure will be run

12.	This is "old school" Dungeons and Dragons, characters can die, do not be upset if a character dies, as DM i do not often fudge rolls, or encounters to keep your characters alive, sometimes it
is smart to either not engage or run away. Saying that, i do not deliberately kill off characters

13.	I will refrain from favouring any player or character.

14.	If as the DM i state that player speech is character speech, then anything that players say from when game is resumed is what their characters say.

15.	If at all possible do not split the party up, this creates more work and time between actions of the two groups

16.	This not a cartoon when all resources are magically restored every time, food/water/arrows ect will be tracked and taken into account. Healing (HP recovery) is 2ed standard, 1 HP day with over
night rest, 2 HP day if complete rest, no excessive travelling (staying in bed) These rates can be increased with healing and herbalism skills.

17	I will allow characters to use the "take 10/50%" rule this is an option to for any character to choose not to roll the dice for a random chance of success but choose a roll exactly half way
between the top and bottom result. example, taking a 10 on a d20 roll, the players can even choose to have these for combat character rolls, such as initiative, attack and damage rolls

18	**Only one character per player, as you are all learning the game, as DM, i will limit players to one character at a time, this is so each player can learn their own character class abilities and develop their characters personality**

19	At the start of each session, there will be
A:	A recap of previous session, as provided by the Note taker, and the next note taker will be assigned
B:	Any discussion from previous session rules or questions can be asked and answered
C:	XP given out and time to make any changes to character sheet
D:	Time for this should only be 15 minutes
E:	Players are responsible for all changes to character sheets such as
addition of experience points, this also includes noting when new levels are achieved.
Maintaining max hit points and armour class
Base – Melee missile and individual weapon THAC0, weapon speeds damages ect.

20.	Sessions should be a Maximum of 4 hours.

21.	I try to keep content o "PG" or "M" rating, no sex, or excessive gore/swearing

			Players Rules

Critical hits
		Double the weapon only damage.
A critical is any natural roll of a 20 in combat or if any other effects decreed by dm.

No critical failures except as already noted under various skills and situations.
